Falck Safety Services UK partners with Sibbald Training
A leading safety training firm is enhancing its local expertise to provide a suite of construction training to the North-east market.
Falck Safety Services UK (Falck), which delivers realistic training in a safe and controlled environment, has partnered with Sibbald Training, the industry experts in construction and plant training, to deliver construction safety training to delegates in the North-east of Scotland.
The suite will include Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) accredited Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS), Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS), as well as SMSTS and SSSTS refresher courses. The courses are available for project managers, site managers, supervisors, business proprietors and client-based personnel working on UK Contractor Group (UKCG) sites.
Valid for five years, the certifications will provide construction personnel with the knowledge and skills to ensure health and safety conditions for construction site employees, including the need for risk assessments and adequate communication on site.
The collaboration complements Sibbald Training’s new satellite Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) and National Plant Operators Registration Scheme (NPORS) training and test centre due to open in Stonehaven in February 2017.
As part of its construction suite, Falck will also run IOSH Working Safely and Managing Safely courses on a monthly basis. For clients that work across sectors or have onshore training needs, Falck offer a Training Management Service (TMS) specialising in the management and administration of training for clients. Services include sourcing the appropriate training provider, fully managing events from start to completion and sourcing venues, accommodation and equipment at preferred rates. TMS also offer fully managed solutions to meet individual clients’ training matrix requirements.
Key account manager for Falck Safety Services UK, Kirsten Young, said: “Partnering with Sibbald Training will allow us to provide an augmented suite of construction training that equips delegates with the skills they need to help fill the competence gap in the industry. The construction industry, similar to the oil and gas industry, has recognised the need for competence throughout the workforce and Falck is committed to providing the necessary training for this sector, offering the same service levels that our core oil and gas customers receive.
“Our TMS service is also beneficial for clients who require a diverse range of training, and with Falck managing this, they are assured that their mandatory training is kept up-to-date, as well as identifying any shortfalls, safeguarding the competence of staff in the workplace.”
John Sibbald, director at Sibbald Training, added: “We are very much looking forward to joining forces with Falck to help expand our services in the North-east. With a number of construction firms now operating in this area, we are seeing an upsurge in delegates requiring training for the construction sector, and with the help of our expert instructors combined with Falck’s fully equipped safety training centres, we now have the capability to fulfil this demand.”
Falck currently provides safety training to more than 340,000 people each year within a range of industries including global oil and gas, shipping, renewable energy, military, maritime and aviation industries.
The construction training is available to book now, with training commencing in February 2017.
